Seats & Usage

BackOps offers flexible seat-based access, so your team can use Dock or Relay based on their roles and responsibilities. Here's how seats work and how usage is measured across your plan.

What is a seat?

A seat is a user license that gives someone (based on their email) access to Dock’s AI assistant. Every teammate who interacts with Dock whether through Slack, Outlook, or the web, requires a seat.

Currently, Dock includes up to 2 Member seats for free. This allows small teams to get started without extra cost.

There are two main roles:

  • Admin

  • Member

Note: At this stage, the user who creates the account is automatically assigned as the Admin. All other users invited during onboarding or later are added as Members by default.

How is usage measured?

Usage is tracked based on:

  • Number of active seats (beyond the free included seats)

  • Interaction volume – questions answered, emails drafted, workflows triggered (Relay)

  • System connections – number of connected tools (e.g. ERP, CRM)

  • Workflow volume – if you’re using Relay, usage is measured by workflow volume (Relay includes unlimited seats)

💡 Tips for managing seats

  • Only assign seats to teammates who will actively use Dock

  • Remove or reassign inactive users to free up seats using Manage team in your workspace
