Not always—it depends on how your organization manages Google Workspace permissions.
If you're an individual user installing Dock for your personal Gmail account, and your settings allow it, you can install the Dock add-in (Relay Plus by BackOps AI) directly from the Google Workspace Marketplace without needing admin approval.
However, in enterprise environments, your organization may have restrictions on third-party app installations. In that case, a Google Workspace admin will need to:
Approve the Dock (Relay Plus) app for your domain
Deploy it across the organization or assign it to specific teams
Once approved, the Dock add-in will become available to all authorized users in their Gmail sidebar.
Tip: If you’re unsure whether add-ins are restricted for your account, try installing Dock yourself. If it’s blocked, simply share the Workspace Marketplace link with your IT administrator and request that Dock be added for your team or department.
